Career exploration
Apprenticeship provides access to living wage income, career advancement, and specialized training opportunities for workers to grow into their professions.
Apprentices get paid to complete on-the-job training while taking supplemental instruction; allowing them to earn a paycheck while furthering their skills.
Each program is structured in accordance to Washington State Apprenticeship & Training Council approved apprenticeship standards. This means that our programs meet the needs of employers in Washington’s high-demand industries, guaranteeing that each program is designed to prepare skilled workers for living-wage jobs.
On-the-job Training (OJT)
Apprentices receive 2,000 hours per year of on-the-job instruction and work experience needed to become journey-level workers versed in theory and practice per apprenticeship standards.
classroom and lab training
In addition to on-the-job training, each apprentice receives a minimum of 144 hours of related supplemental instruction (RSI) per year, expanding their theoretical and practical knowledge of their occupation. This may training may take place in a classroom, a lab, or on the job site depending on each employers’ needs.
