The Machinists Institute is offering two free, intensive welding bootcamps.
Dive in to a week of extensive practical training and walk away with a solid understanding of the necessary skills to prepare for high demand welding careers.
Camp 1: Monday 7/24 — Fri 8/28
Camp 2: Monday 7/31 — Fri 8/4
8am - 3pm, 35hrs, approx. 20hrs of practical
Cost: Free
Students must wear:
Long pants and long shirts made from natural fibers (e.g. cotton) or fire-rated/flame retardant materials.
Safety shoes
No hoodies, sweat pants or thick facial hair

Course Info
This course will cover SMAW welding (shielded metal arc welding), also known as stick welding. Students will learn and practice use of deep penetrating rods and low hydrogen rods on steel. Please note that this is an introductory course that will not result in certification upon completion.
Day 1: Classroom learning
Day 2-5: Lab training + 15 min classes to explain concepts
Students prepare own water and lunch.
