Marcus Harrell
REGIONAL DIRECTOR, TUKWILA
Marcus Harrell serves as the Regional Director of Operations for the Machinists Institute in Puget Sound. He leads regional strategy and training delivery efforts to expand access to high-quality apprenticeship and workforce programs throughout Washington State.
Before joining the Machinists Institute, Marcus held several leadership roles across Kâ12, two-year, and four-year institutions. In these positions, he managed grants, supported student advising programs, guided students in college and career planning, designed career exploration events, and promoted awareness of Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, ensuring equitable access to post-secondary and industry opportunities.
Marcus spent over a decade at the Oregon Institute of Technology as Seattle Site Manager and Campus Operations Director. His leadership advanced academic program development, student services, and workforce partnerships, most notably through collaborative training initiatives with Boeing, SPEEA, and IAM unions. He was responsible for class scheduling, faculty hiring, student advising, budget oversight, and facilities planning while spearheading efforts to improve student success and retention.
Marcus earned his undergraduate degree from Concordia College and holds advanced degrees from Capella University. He specializes in educational leadership, management, and enrollment strategy. He is an active volunteer in his local community and enjoys watching movies in his free time.
