Herman Calzadillas

Regional Director of Operations - Everett

Herman serves as the Director of Regional Operations at the Machinists Institute, where he leads the development and execution of workforce training initiatives that support the region’s industrial and manufacturing sectors. Based in Everett, Washington, Herman oversees programs in Pre-Apprenticeship, Apprenticeship, and Incumbent Worker Training—ensuring that learners at all stages of their careers have access to high-quality, industry-relevant instruction.

With more than 27 years of experience in higher education and nonprofit administration, Herman has held leadership roles at Washington State University, Lake Washington Institute of Technology, The Foundation for Private Enterprise Education, Everett Community College, and Workforce Snohomish. Prior to joining the Machinists Institute, he served as Dean of the Advanced Manufacturing and Training Center (AMTEC) and other professional-technical programs at Everett Community College, and as Senior Director of Business Engagement at Workforce Snohomish.

Herman is a passionate advocate for both formal and informal education. He believes in the power of training and education to drive economic mobility and is committed to helping individuals grow through personal and professional development.

Outside of work, Herman enjoys various sports, watching movies, and spending time with his family.
